Ontem completaram-se 41 anos da morte de um dos maiores ícones que já viveu neste planeta: Bruce Lee.
Não estou aqui, colocando-o como um “ser iluminado” ou um “super-homem” acima do bem e do mal. Porém, é inegável a influência dele na decisão de milhões de pessoas pelo mundo afora, quando procuraram pela primeira vez um local para praticar artes marciais.

I'm not here, placing him as an "illuminated person" or "a superman" beyond good and evil. However, his influence is undeniable in the decision of millions of people around the world, when they sought a place for the first time to practice martial arts.
A influência de Bruce Lee não se ateve somente as artes chinesas, pois era muito comum nos anos que se seguiram a estreia de “Operação Dragão”(Enter the Dragon,1973) nos cinemas de todo o mundo, observar posters dele em locais de prática de artes inclusive japonesas. Todos queriam de alguma forma, associar a habilidade adquirida na modalidade a Bruce Lee para conseguir mais alunos.

Mas décadas após a sua morte, qualquer revista de artes marciais que pretendesse ter uma boa tiragem trazia pelo menos uma nota sobre Bruce Lee a cada edição. Isso quando ele não estava lá na capa novamente.

But what draws attention in his case, is that this "brucelee-an fever" was not limited to one or two years. But decades after his death, any martial arts magazine wich wish to have a good run at least brought a note about Bruce Lee in each issue.Or when he was not there on the cover again.
Fitas VHS eram lançadas ano após ano com documentários que faziam a vida de Bruce Lee ser cada vez mais envolta a mistérios. Sua morte por exemplo, é algo que até hoje gera discussões. Não mais em revistas mensais sobre artes marciais, mas em redes sociais.
Próximo ao aniversário de 25 anos de sua morte, o filho de Bruce Lee, Brandon , morre nas filmagens de “O Corvo”. Alguns falaram em “Maldição da Família Lee”, para outros, a áurea de mistério apenas cresceu mais. E lá estava Bruce Lee novamente na mídia! Nas revistas, em edições especiais em VHS de “Operação Dragão”, e no cinema quando sua cine-biografia foi lançada. E mesmo não tendo ficado lá essas coisas, todos guardam este filme com muito carinho na memória pois afinal era Bruce Lee! Toda uma geração órfã de Bruce Lee poderia mais uma vez vislumbrar sua pessoa na tela grande.

Foi Bruce Lee que deixou o Kung Fu, em especial o Ving Tsun(Wing Chun), famoso em todo o planeta. Qualquer pessoa com mais de 30 anos pode dizer que teve algum tipo de influência, direta ou indireta dele para começar sua prática. Hoje, já não é mais assim. Talvez o grande ícone que faz o Ving Tsun se popularizar cada vez mais é exatamente seu Si Fu, Ip Man. Que teve alguns filmes feitos contando sua história.

Na capa do DVD do primeiro filme de Ip Man lançado no Brasil sob o título de “O Grande Mestre”. Lia-se uma frase num tamanho menor próximo ao personagem: “A história do Mestre Kung Fu de Bruce Lee”.
A história de Ip Man já era rica antes mesmo de Bruce Lee decidir começar a praticar, mas para os milhões de fãs no mundo todo, ainda que tenham se emocionado com a história do agora chamado “Grande Mestre”, o que todos esperavam era Bruce Lee aparecer num dos filmes.
E finalmente, lá estava ele representado em “O Grande Mestre 2” (IP MAN 2 , 2010).
O personagem entra em cena de uma forma sem pé nem cabeça no final do filme, mas pouco importava! Era um presente do diretor e produtor para o público que tanto esperou!

Hoje, 41 anos depois de sua morte, ainda lembro de quando assisti um filme seu pela primeira vez. Foi num “Domingo Maior” da TV Globo em 1998. O filme era exatamente aquele que o lançou ao estrelato : “O dragão chinês”(foto) (The Big Boss,1971) que no original em cantonês levava o nome de (唐山大兄) “Tong San Dai Hing”, que significava “O irmão mais velho de Tong San”. O nome é esse pois Bruce Lee interpreta “Cheng”, um rapaz que sai da China continental para viver com seus primos na Tailandia e trabalhar numa Fábrica de Gelo que na verdade era um local usado para tráfico de drogas. Cheng (Bruce Lee) acaba com todo o tráfico e derrota ao final o dono da fábrica, conhecido como “Big Boss”. De todos os filmes de Bruce Lee, esse é o que menos gosto. Mas quando assisto Bruce Lee, para mim era como quando Romário jogava: Não importava o time que fosse, podia ser o Vasco. Você torcia pelo Romário mesmo assim.
Acho que com Bruce Lee acontece o mesmo: Os filmes ficaram antiquados para o dinamismo dos dias de hoje, ainda que em seu tempo, tenham sido incríveis e inovadores. Mas pouco importa, é o Bruce Lee!
Today, 41 years after his death,I still remember when I watched a movie of him for the first time. Was a "Movie Session" on Globo TV in 1998 The movie was exactly the one that launched him to stardom:. The Big Boss, 1971, that in the original Cantonese bore the name of (唐山 大兄 ) "Tong San Dai Hing", which meant. "Big brother of Tong San" The name is because Bruce Lee plays "Cheng", a guy coming out of mainland China to live with his cousins in Thailand and work at some Ice Factory which actually was a location used for drug dealing. Cheng (Bruce Lee) ends up with all the drug dealing at the end and defeat the boss of the factory, known as "Big Boss". Of all the films of Bruce Lee, this is the one I dont like so much! But when I watch Bruce Lee, for me it was like when Romario playedsoccer: No matter what team he was, could be the worst. But for Romario there was no problem!
I think Bruce Lee is the same: The movies are old to the dynamism of today, even in their time, have been amazing and innovative. But no matter, it's Bruce Lee!
