Segundo a maioria dos filmes que assistimos , a vida na faculdade se resume a festas o tempo todo(como diria..ou cantariam Eddie Murphy e Rick James) , altas confusões, e ter no máximo 2 amigos que junto com você não são muito populares, mas que ainda assim, vão se meter numa grande enrascada com você! Mas no final tudo dá certo!

As we see in the movies, the life at the College is about "party all the time"(Like Eddie Murphy and Rick James would say..or sing...) , a lot of trouble after parties, and of course, you would have 2 closest friends. Who would not be so popular as you, but they´d be with you in a great adventure,and in the end everything would be a´right.

No meu caso não foi bem assim em idos de 2003, quando ainda estava na faculdade.Pois quando não estava numa disputa pessoal com um dos alunos de Medicina em um dos fliperamas da Praça de Alimentação da UGF , me juntava aos meus amigos mais próximos que também praticavam Kung Fu, e começava a treinar...

But in my story that was not this way in 2003 when I was in College. When I was not trying to beat some Medicine course student in some arcade game in the main lunch room of my college, I was with my friends who was also martial arts students, trainning...

Sempre pensei o quão legal seria se ao invés das aulas de botânica pudéssemos ter uma disciplina de artes marciais.. E quem diria, que anos antes, em 1996, Mestre Leo Imamura já havia conseguido isso na FEFISA, junto ao Conselho Federal de Educação...

I ´ve always tought about how much fun would be to have martial arts as a discipline in my grade! Not Botanic or some boring discipline like that... And what I did not know was that in 1996 Master Leo Imamura did it already! Putting Martial Arts as a discipline in the Santo Andre City College´s grade with the permission of the Brazilian Goverment...

A nova geração de praticantes de artes marciais, vangloria os grandes participantes de torneios como o UFC. Mas antes deles, existiu toda uma geração de Mestres que fundaram os alicerces para que hoje pudéssemos desfrutar do cenário que temos de artes marciais. 

Cada Mestre dá sua contribuição para que sua arte seja preservada da melhor maneira possível. Foi assim com Ip Man, que na segunda metade dos anos ’60 , com a fundação da Ving Tsun Athletic Association havia fundado nada mais, nada menos, do que a primeira entidade oficial de artes marciais reconhecida pelo governo de Hong Kong, na época, um protetorado britânico.

The new generation of martial artists,pays a lot of attention to contenders in tournaments like the UFC. But before them, there was a whole generation of Masters who founded the foundation for what today we could enjoy in martial arts.

Each Master gives his contribution to his art to it be preserved in the best way possible. So with Ip Man, in the second half of the '60s, with the founding of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association wich was the first official martial arts entity recognized by the government of Hong Kong, at the time, a British protectorate.

Aqui no Brasil, dentre tantos mestres que se destacaram nesse primeiro momento das artes marciais em nosso país, tenho orgulho de ter como meu Si Gung , Mestre Leo Imamura, um desses pioneiros, que nos anos 90 conseguiu diretamente do Ministério da Educação, a inclusão da disciplina “Artes Marciais” na grade de matérias da FEFISA. A Faculdade de Educação Fisica de Santo André.

Here in Brazil, among many teachers who was outstanding in this first moment of martial arts in our country, I am proud to have as my Si Gung, Master Leo Imamura, one of those pioneers who in the '90s managed directly from the Ministry of Education of Brazil, the authotrization to put as an offiicial  discipline of Santo Andre City´s College : "Martial Arts"

Anos mais tarde, pude desfrutar de uma aula com Si Gung e Si Taai na Universidade Gama Filho de São Paulo(foto), na qual o curso de pós-graduação em artes marciais teve Mestre Leo Imamura e sua esposa, Sra Vanise Imamura, como dois dos professores que formavam o corpo docente desse projeto pioneiro. Years later, I could enjoy a class with Si Gung and Si Taai at the Gama Filho University of São Paulo city (photo), in which the graduate course in martial arts had Master Leo Imamura and his wife, Mrs Vanise Imamura, as two of the teachers who formed the faculty of this pioneering project in Brazil. Abaixo, segue o trecho do documento enviado ao Ministério da Educação pedindo autorização para que o currículo fosse alterado com a inclusão de Si Gung como professor titular da disciplina:

“...E a inclusão da disciplina Artes Marciais no currículo do curso.
Para a nova disciplina (Artes Marciais), a Faculdade indica, como responsável, o Prof. Lèo Akio Imamura, que é licenciado em Educação Fisica, pela Faculdade de Santo André (1989) possui Curso de Qualificação em Artes Marciais pela Yip Man Martial Arts Athletic Association de Hong Kong(1988) e pela Moy Yat Ving Tsun Special Student Association – USA(1990), tem vários trabalhos publicados nessa área, é representante oficial da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Special Student Association e Diretor Técnico do Sistema Ving Tsun da Federação Paulista de Kung Fu – Wushu. Desde 1990 é professor assistente na Faculdade de Educação Física de Santo André , na disciplina Ginástica Ritmica. 
As alterações curriculares propostas não contrariam a legislação e normas vigentes, podendo ser aprovadas por este conselho...”
VOTO DO RELATOR:
“...O Professor Leo Akio Imamura pode ser aceito para a nova disciplina Artes Marciais...”
CONCLUSÃO DA CAMARA:

For the new discipline (Martial Arts), College indicates as responsible, Prof.. Leo Akio Imamura, who has a degree in Physical Education, by the  Santo André College(1989) has also Qualification Course in Martial Arts by Yip Man Martial Arts Athletic Association of Hong Kong (1988) and Moy Yat Ving Tsun Special Student Association - USA (1990). He has several published works in this area, is the official representative of the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Special Student Association in South America and Chief Technical for the System Ving Tsun in the Sao Paulo Kung Fu Federation . Since 1990 he is assistant professor at the Physical Education College of Santo Andre, in the discipline Rhythmic Gymnastics.

The curricular changes proposed do not contravene the laws and regulations, may be approved by this council ... "
