Este ano estão sendo completados 10 anos desde o falecimento deste grande expoente do Ving Tsun: Grão-Mestre Moy Yat e ontem, dia 28 de Junho, foi celebrado seu aniversario.
Sua dedicação a esta arte, e sua proeminência em tantas outras vertentes da cultura chinesa, fizeram dele, um verdadeiro mestre de 7 instrumentos dos tempos modernos.
Grão-Mestre Moy Yat valorizou seu Mestre em cada um de seus atos, mesmo após sua morte.
Um exemplo muito interessante eh que Ip Man caracterizou “Ving Tsun” como a transliteração oficial depois da fundação da Ving Tsun Athletic Association nos anos 60. Moy Yat ao se mudar para os EUA, sentiu que ainda que “Wing Chun” fosse uma transliteração comercialmente mais interessante, viu que se mudasse sua escola para “Moy Yat Wing Chun”, já começaria a ir contra o pensamento de seu Mestre começando pelo nome. Então decidiu por manter a transliteração com “V” e “T”.
